This conference will address the most urgent and unsettled ethical questions in Catholic healthcare, with particular focus on the beginning of life, the sanctity of every human person, and faithful care through natural death.

- Ethical issues at the beginning of life, including conception, human dignity, and the moral obligations owed to the unborn
- The fate of frozen human embryos, and the Church’s responsibility to acknowledge, protect, and accompany embryonic human life
- The sanctity of all human life, regardless of age, disability, illness, dependency, or cognitive ability
- Brain injury, neurological impairment, and disorders of consciousness, including ethical decision-making in complex medical cases
- End-of-life care, including ordinary vs. extraordinary means, accompaniment, suffering, and rejection of euthanasia and assisted suicide
- The moral responsibilities of caregivers, who—like those they serve—are made in the image of Christ and called to faithful, ethical witness in healthcare
